Make your peace with our forever companion, Death, and discover the secret of life-enriching human connection
Death is the one inevitability that we all face. Yet in our modern society, so few of us are given the chance to come to terms with it in a healthy way.
That’s what inspired restaurateur, entrepreneur, and activist Michael Hebb to found Death Over Dinner – an organization that encourages people to pull up a chair, break bread with each other, and really talk about the one thing we all have in common.
People who attend his surprisingly life-affirming gatherings bond deeply with each other as they discuss the aspects of death that often are left unspoken – such as what we fear, what we hope, and how we want to be remembered.
In the process of turning to face their own mortality and processing their grief over the loss of their loved ones, they discover that embracing their relationship with death can be a healing source of renewal, purpose, and joy.
If you have recently lost a loved one – or if you’re feeling called to come to terms with your own mortality – this workshop is designed to help you find the peace you’re looking for, and so much more.

During five powerful days with Michael and the MEA team in beautiful Baja, you will be invited to transform your relationship with death and cultivate a deeper, more profound connection with your own humanity and that of others.

Michael Hebb
Founder of Death Over Dinner
Author | Entrepreneur | Speaker | Activist
Michael is the Founder of Life Over Dinner. He currently serves as a Board Member of Village Health Works and as Board Advisor (Emeritus) at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts. In the recent past, he served as a Partner at RoundGlass and Senior Advisor to Summit Series, Theo Chocolate, CreativeLive, Architecture For Humanity, and Mosaic Voices Foundation.
Michael’s groundbreaking work with Death Over Dinner emerged from his own early encounters with mortality. After losing his father to Alzheimer's at age thirteen, Hebb developed a profound understanding of how challenging end-of-life conversations can be – and how essential. Named an "underground restaurateur, impresario and provocateur" by The New York Times, he has transformed this personal experience into a global movement.
Launched 12 years ago, Death Over Dinner provides a framework for people to gather around a meal and engage in meaningful conversations about mortality. The initiative has grown exponentially, with over one million people participating in these transformative dinners worldwide, making it one of the most successful end-of-life awareness campaigns ever created.
A captivating speaker, Hebb has shared his insights through a widely-viewed TEDMED talk and numerous speaking engagements at universities and conferences globally. His second book, Let's Talk About Death (Over Dinner) continues to expand this vital work. His approach combines the intimacy of shared meals with carefully crafted conversation tools, proving that the dinner table can be one of our most powerful venues for transformative dialogue.

Death has always been one of our primary teachers.
Facing our mortality can lead us down a path of inquiry that gives our life shape, purpose and meaning. When we compassionately embrace our own death and grief with intention and humility, it is less frightening and can be a realm of great inspiration and vitality that evokes great awakening and significant healing.
