MEA 5-Day Immersive

Creativity in the Second Half of Life

Mar 2 - Mar 7, 2026 in Baja, Mexico
Led by: Mark Nepo, Barbara Tint, Daniel Weinzveg, Teddi Dean

The creative fire doesn't dim with age – it deepens.

You've lived long enough to know that aging isn't about decline.

It's about distillation.

The stripping away of everything that isn't essential until you're left with what Jung called "the treasure hard to attain"—your authentic self, finally free to create not for achievement, but for the pure joy of being fully alive.

At midlife, you're asking: What does it mean to age consciously? How do I stay creative when the world expects me to slow down? What wants to emerge in these vital decades ahead?

When the fire deepens, everything changes.

Join Mark Nepo – beloved poet, cancer survivor, and wisdom teacher – for a transformative week that combines decades of spiritual insight with practical frameworks for living creatively in the second half of life.

It's time to inhabit your life as the work of art it was always meant to be.

Your most creative decades are still ahead of you.
Deepen and transform your relationship with aging, limitation, and liberation with New York Times bestselling author Mark Nepo – and explore how living creatively means turning everyday actions into expressions of meaning, beauty, and presence.

What you’ll gain

The Soul's Calling

Distinguish between what the world wants from you and what your soul is asking for. Learn to hear the subtle voice beneath the noise of “should” and “must.”

Your Creative Thread

Trace the golden thread that runs through your life – the consistent creative impulse that connects who you've been with who you're becoming.

Exploration, Mastery, Abandonment

Navigate the three phases of creative living: the curiosity of exploration, the depth of mastery, and the freedom of abandonment to what wants to emerge.

The Awaiting Simplicities
Discover what Helen Luke calls "the journey into simplicity" – the gifts that emerge when we stop trying to be someone and start being ourselves.

This isn't about becoming a “creative.”

It’s about reclaiming your life as a work of art and allowing beauty, truth, and wonder to guide your path.

People come for the workshops,
but they stay for the community

This is truly MEA’s “secret sauce” and something you can only experience in person: the powerful connections you will make, not only with your fellow participants and the incredible MEA faculty, but also the deeper sense of connection you will feel to your own inner self and the natural world around you.

Research into aging shows that your relationships play a HUGE role in your health and wellbeing later in life. At MEA, you will make deep and lasting connections and become part of a larger community that will make your life richer and more meaningful.

Many of our alumni cohorts have stayed in close touch for years after their workshop and we have a growing number of local alumni chapters all over the world. It’s a joy for us to see them continuing to offer each other community, friendship, and support as they create thriving midlives for themselves. So if you have been feeling at all disconnected or isolated on your journey, we would love to have you join us!

Have we mentioned the food?
