Aithan Shapira


Aithan Shapira PhD MFA is internationally acclaimed Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan, an established artist, and founder of TILT, a firm focused on the artful evolution of leaders and cultures as they move critical initiatives forward in ever-changing contexts. 

As facilitator, coach, and designer of developmental programming, Aithan applies his progressive ways for training leaders to serve those sincere about doing the inner work necessary to make the outer work work. In the last decade, he has formed communities of practice with leaders who impact billions worldwide and who share his commitment to sustain their own growth in conjunction with forwarding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at the speed of change. 

 He has applied his progressive methodology with high-impact organizations in tech, health, finance, and green-energy including NASA, the UN, Greenpeace, Google, Mass General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School.  He also serves on McKinsey’s think-tank for Learning Innovation and is ongoingly developing new curricular approaches for training leadership at MIT Sloan, Harvard ilab, and Stanford d.school. 

Over the past decade Aithan has trained more than 12,000 leaders, 240 facilitators and coaches, given over 160 keynotes, and customized award-winning leadership curricula for over 30 Fortune500 organizations. Aithan developed his research on the creative process at the Royal College of Art & Design, lived in an Australian Aboriginal community for three years studying creative maturity, and continues to be a visiting critic at arts institutions internationally. He exhibits his art in museums and galleries in New York, London, and Miami.
