LSI Alliance Retreat
at M|E|A Rising Circle Ranch

  • Santa Fe, NM
  • April 15-19, 2027

You have spent your career leading at the highest levels, and through the Leadership and Society Initiative you began asking the deeper questions about what comes next.

Chip Conley

M|E|A Founder & Executive Chairman

This retreat is designed to carry that inquiry forward — to give you the space, the peers, and the frameworks to shape your next chapter with intention.

Join your LSI Fellows from across cohorts and pathways for a private, immersive experience at M|E|A Rising Circle Ranch in Santa Fe. Hosted by Chip Conley, this retreat is an opportunity to step out of the day-to-day, reconnect with what matters most, and explore the questions of fulfillment, purpose, and wisdom that define this stage of life.

Set on 2,600 acres in northern New Mexico, Rising Circle Ranch is an environment intentionally designed for reflection, connection, and meaningful conversation.

Program Goal

The program's goal is to create deeper opportunities for Fellows to connect both in the classroom and outside, melding M|E|A's experiential education focused on helping midlifers reframe their relationship with aging, grow their transitional intelligence (TQ), and embrace their wisdom for the purpose of enhancing Fellows' "Ripple of Impact" (another form of ROI) in the world.

The program aims to do so in a way that will complement and build upon — and not feel redundant to — the work LSI Fellows did during their fellowship year. It will allow Fellows from across cohorts to meet as well: over meals, going for walks, during the Saturday afternoon Small Discussion Groups, in the Wisdom Circles, or in the interstitial spaces of the retreat.

Who This Is For

This experience is designed for LSI Fellows who are:

  • Navigating their own next chapter or life transition
  • Seeking fresh perspective and connection alongside trusted, high-caliber peers
  • Drawn to the questions of fulfillment, purpose, and wisdom that shape a vital second half of life

Why This Matters

This experience is designed to help you:

  • Cultivate resilience and a steady mindset for the transitions ahead — adjusting to the space between what you planned for your next chapter
  • Explore what fulfillment and flourishing mean to you, with tools and practices to stay vital across every area of life
  • Deepen connection and peer support among Fellows across cohorts and pathways
  • Translate a lifetime of experience into wisdom you can carry into your next chapter and your Ripple of Impact in the world

Key Focus Areas

Four Pathways to Purpose

A process for making sense of evolving purpose in midlife — moving from a few "big P" purposes to a portfolio of "small p" purposes, and choosing where to double down or explore anew.

Wisdom at Work (science + practice)

Translating metabolized experience, "mindfully shared for the common good," into actionable insight that elevates decision-making and impact.

Mindset Management

Recognizing and releasing the limiting beliefs and identities that no longer serve you, so you can meet midlife and what comes next with a growth mindset.

Aging & Longevity Science

The social science of a longer, happier life — where strong relationships and a positive mindset about aging measurably add both years and meaning.

Transitional Intelligence (TQ)

The modern skill of navigating personal and professional transitions — the ending, the "messy middle," and the new beginning — with structure, coping practices, and resilience.

Signature Experiences

Guided Wisdom Circles

Small, facilitated gatherings that anchor each day and build deep, lasting trust across the cohort.

The "Great Midlife Edit" Ritual

A collective fireside ritual in which each person lets go of a mindset that no longer serves them and welcomes one that will.

Restorative Practices

Sound baths, mindful movement and meditation, ridgetop and milagro hikes, and campfire songs.

Optional Explorations

Canyon Road Art Walk, Ten Thousand Waves communal hot-spring bathing, and Equine Assisted Learning.

Small Discussion Groups (SDGs)

Topic-based pods (topics chosen by Fellows, e.g., Renewing Purpose, Becoming a Beginner, Creating a Portfolio Life, Memoir Writing, Empty Nesting) where each Fellow can name something they could use help with and receive generative, catalytic questions from their peers.
