Your Life As a Creative Act: Power & Possibility
Is a partial scholarship for you?
We believe in making personal growth and education accessible to everyone, which is why we offer partial scholarships on a needs-aware basis for many of our programs.
These scholarships support individuals facing financial challenges, including — but not limited to — members of underrepresented communities. If financial stress might prevent you from attending a workshop, we encourage you to apply.
Partial scholarships, provided through the Association for Growth and Education, are limited to 2–3 seats per workshop and reviewed in the order received. We recommend applying as soon as possible, as scholarship decisions are typically confirmed 90–120 days before the workshop date.

What if the most creative work of your life is still ahead of you?
You’ve had flashes – on a walk, in the shower, on a long drive – where you catch a glimpse of something you’d love to make, do, or become. Then you talk yourself out of it before it has a chance to breathe.
Too risky. Too late. Too far from the life you’ve already made.
Over time, it can start to feel like you’re standing at a distance from your own life, watching it unfold instead of shaping it. You’re doing a lot, but it doesn’t feel like it adds up to much that truly excites you and gives your life meaning.
There’s a question that keeps surfacing:
Whose choices are these, anyway?
That question is worth taking seriously. It may be the most honest, creative signal you’ve had in a long time – the part of you that knows there’s unlived life still on the table, asking to be listened to.
The longer you wait, the more comfortable waiting becomes.
That's the risk – not that something will go wrong, but that nothing really will.
You'll keep deferring the question of what you actually want to create with your life in favor of what's already in motion. A year from now you'll be in the same conversation with yourself, just a little more resigned to it.
The version of you with more range, more creative say, more genuine ownership over what comes next – that version doesn't disappear. It just gets harder to hear over everything else you've agreed to keep doing.
What becomes possible when you reclaim your creative agency:
Rob Bell is coming to Baja with one question:
What do you want to create with the life you have now?
Rob Bell has spent two decades working with people at this juncture – accomplished, curious, and aware that the way they've been relating to their own lives has a shelf life.
If you’ve read his books or listened to his podcast, you know the feeling: he’ll say one sentence and something you’ve been carrying for years clicks into place. It’s rarely a neat answer. It’s more like suddenly seeing your own life in a better light – clearer, less cluttered, more honest.
Over five days at our oceanfront campus, he brings that gift into the room and into your actual story – the gap between the life you’re executing and the life you’re still capable of making.
You don’t need to think of yourself as creative to belong here.
You just need to suspect there’s more range in you than your current life is using. That might mean you’re a retired executive in a chapter that doesn’t quite fit yet, a founder who’s built something impressive and now feels boxed in by it, or someone who hasn’t had a stretch of uninterrupted time to think about any of this in years.
Which is where Baja comes in.
MEA’s campus on the Pacific isn’t just a backdrop – it’s part of the container. The unhurried rhythm. Chef‑made meals eaten slowly at long tables with an intimate group. Morning sessions that start in the classroom and keep unfolding as you’re walking the beach or sitting under the stars that night. The place itself helps you hear things you’ve been too busy to notice.
Across five days of teaching, reflection, and dialogue with Rob Bell, you will:

Identify the stories that have been running the show

Reconnect with the curiosity, instincts, and creative impulses you set aside

Stop letting fear and uncertainty make your decisions for you

Develop a more honest relationship with time

Put words to what’s actually happening in your life right now

Trade vague dissatisfaction for a set of grounded experiments
This workshop
is for you if…

New York Times Bestselling Author | Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People | Host of The RobCast
Rob Bell is the author of 14 books, translated into more than 25 languages, including Love Wins, How to Be Here, What We Talk About When We Talk About God, and Everything Is Spiritual. His work is for people asking deeper questions about how they want to live and what actually matters.
His podcast, The RobCast, has built a global following – not because he offers answers, but because he asks better questions.
Rob first became widely known as the founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church, one of the most attended churches in the U.S. He left at the height of its growth to pursue a broader creative path that spans writing, speaking, and performance.
He’s taken that work on the road with his one-man shows, Everything Is Spiritual and What Is the Bible?, performing to sold-out theaters. His live events feel less like lectures and more like something between a story, a conversation, and a shift in perspective.
Rob’s gift is the reframe. A single observation that quietly rearranges how you see something you thought you already understood.
"Your life is not a problem to be solved. It's a work of art in progress."– Rob Bell

Step into Transformation on Baja’s Sun-Soaked Shores
El Pescadero Resort | Baja, Mexico
A stunning oceanfront property offering all of the luxuries and amenities of a luxury hotel with beautiful beaches perfect for swimming or surfing. Located on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, just a short drive from Todos Santos, the Pueblo Magico.
PLUS: Gourmet from-scratch meals, snacks, and drinks featuring locally sourced ingredients from our organic garden, made by our in-house chefs.

Is It Safe to Travel to Baja?
If recent news about Mexico has you second-guessing a trip, we get it. Here's what you should know.
Our campus is in Baja California Sur, a quiet stretch of the Pacific coast between Todos Santos and Cabo. Think surf breaks, organic farms, and dirt roads that lead to empty beaches. It's about as far from the headlines as you can get.
The U.S. State Department gives Baja California Sur a Level 2 advisory, the same rating as France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. There are no travel restrictions for U.S. citizens or government personnel anywhere in the state, and Baja California Sur is consistently ranked one of Mexico's two safest states. Flights and ground travel throughout the region are running normally with no disruptions.
Our upcoming workshops are booking as expected, and we continue to welcome guests to campus every month. Nothing has changed on the ground here.

Every creative act starts with a choice to begin.
The life you're living and the life you're capable of living have drifted apart — enough that it shows up in how you talk about your work, your plans, what you want next.
Rob Bell has spent 20 years sitting with people at exactly this moment, and what he knows – what everyone who's done this work knows – is that the distance closes faster than you think, once you stop managing it and start creating.
Five days in Baja will give you:
Your life has always been a creative act. This workshop is where you pick up the pen.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's this workshop actually about – at its core?
It’s about reclaiming your role as the author of your own life. Most of us spend our middle decades executing well on plans that made sense when we first made them. This workshop asks a different question: what do you actually want to create with the time and freedom you have now? Rob Bell is one of the most gifted teachers alive at helping people find a real answer to that.
Do I need to have a background in spirituality or creative work?
No. The “creative act” in the title isn’t about art – it’s about agency. It applies equally to the retired executive, the recently emptied-nester, the entrepreneur wondering what act two looks like. If you’re a human being with a life and a sense that more is possible, you’re qualified.
How big is the group?
Small – by design. MEA workshops are intentionally intimate, which is what makes the quality of conversation and connection possible. This isn’t a conference. It’s closer to the best dinner party you’ve ever been to, running for five days straight.
Is this therapy or coaching?
It’s neither – and it’s something both often point toward. This isn’t about diagnosing a problem. It’s about perspective. The kind that’s hard to develop alone, and that tends to arrive faster in the right environment, with the right people, in five uninterrupted days.
What's included in the investment?
Everything except your flights: five nights of lodging at MEA’s Baja world-class campus, all meals, snacks and beverages, full workshop sessions with Rob Bell and the MEA team, and all activities and evening gatherings. Partial scholarships are available for those who need it.
This was a beautiful journey that has come to an end, unfortunately.
The program was spectacular. It really surpassed my expectations. I was really surprised about how the course was curated. There was such a warm intensity and personal touch to it.

MEA is for anyone who wants to live with greater purpose and gratitude.
I experienced MEA as a newly diagnosed multiple myeloma cancer patient, and as a result of the things I’ve learned - I’ve banished the anxiety of being a cancer victim, am in remission, and living with a newfound energy and purpose.
