The Further You Get From Your Life, the Clearer It Gets

Come to MEA Baja this summer and discover what’s possible

There's a reason people have always gone to the ocean to think. Distance helps. So does the particular combination of natural beauty, unhurried time, and serious intellectual company that MEA's Baja campus delivers. These six workshops – held on a stretch of Pacific coastline between Todos Santos and Cabo this spring and summer – are for anyone ready to step back far enough to see the whole picture, and then do something about it.

Who Are You Now? Embrace Your Emerging Self

  • Jill Nykoliation | May 11–16, 2026

The roles that got you here – the title, the identity, the version of yourself you've been performing for decades – are a starting point, not a destination. Led by Jill Nykoliation, former global CEO and executive coach, this workshop helps you identify what's still true about who you are and what's simply habit, expectation, or inertia. The result is clarity about who you actually are now – and what that means for what comes next.

Navigating Transitions

  • Christine Sperber | May 18–23, 2026

The transitions that tend to be most disorienting in midlife aren't the dramatic ones – they're the slow, structural shifts that don't announce themselves until they're well underway. A role that no longer fits. A sense of direction that's quietly gone. This workshop, led by MEA co-founder Christine Sperber, gives you the tools to meet those moments with more intention than momentum alone allows.

Landscapes of Silence

  • Teddi Dean & Nica Celly | June 1–6, 2026

Most high-performing people have never actually been quiet for five days. Led by MEA's Head of Mindfulness and Movement Teddi Dean and facilitator Nica Celly, this five-day retreat uses guided meditation, gentle movement, soundbaths, and the natural rhythm of the Baja coast to create the conditions for clarity that busy lives rarely allow. Once a day the silence breaks for a Wisdom Pod – a session of contemplative teaching and discussion led by Teddi and Nica. The people who come for this tend to describe it as one of the most productive weeks of their lives.

Let the Dream Take Over: Pursuing Your Passion

  • Stacy Peralta | June 15–20, 2026

Stacy Peralta became a professional skateboarder at 19, built one of the most successful skateboard brands of the 1980s, walked away, taught himself filmmaking, and went on to direct award-winning documentaries. He didn't plan any of it – he followed what pulled at him and let go when it stopped working. This workshop is built around that principle: that the dreams you've set aside in the name of responsibility don't disappear, and that midlife may be exactly the right time to find out what happens if you stop talking yourself out of them.

Cultivating Purpose

  • Jeff Hamaoui | June 22–27, 2026

The restless sense that something is missing – that accomplishment and fulfillment have quietly come apart – is one of the most common experiences in midlife and one of the least talked about. Led by MEA co-founder Jeff Hamaoui, who has spent years helping midlifers move from that feeling toward specific, actionable clarity, this workshop gives you the tools to figure out not just what's missing but exactly what to do about it.

Baja Summer Immersion

  • July 15 – October 4, 2026

This isn't a workshop. There's no curriculum to follow, no deliverables to produce, no outcomes to optimize for. The Baja Summer Immersion is simply an open invitation to spend time – as few as three days, as many weeks as you like – at MEA's extraordinary oceanside campus between Todos Santos and Cabo, doing exactly as much or as little as you want. Work on your writing with Amanda Aileen Fisher.

Move and build strength with Pilates and movement educator Tom McCook. Pick up some Spanish. Take a surf lesson. Sit with the sound of the waves and let your mind go somewhere it hasn't been in a while. Or bring a few good friends and do all of it together. Think of it as the reset you've been meaning to take – finally, somewhere worth taking it.
