The Deeper Work: Psilocybin, Psychedelic Research, and a Guided Retreat
Psilocybin is changing the conversation about personal growth, emotional healing, and the mind’s capacity to form new patterns.
This October, MEA and Beckley Retreats will bring a small group to Jamaica for The Deeper Work, a five-night guided experience that includes two guided psilocybin ceremonies, contemplative practices, live music, and support before and after the retreat.
Join MEA faculty member and therapist Lori Schwanbeck for a live conversation with Beckley Retreats’ COO Anja Saloranta and co-founder and CEO Neil Markey. Together, they’ll share the research and thinking behind psychedelic treatments, along with a candid look at what responsible psychedelic work involves.
You’ll hear about:
-
What scientists are learning about psilocybin and the brain
-
How guests are screened, prepared, and supported
-
What happens during a professionally guided ceremony
-
Why and how the work continues after you return home
Want to explore the retreat before joining the conversation?

A Kinder Way with Sage Robbins
November 2, 2026
10:00 AM PT
01:00 PM ET
Sage Robbins is a speaker, guide, and author who’s shared global stages alongside her husband, Tony Robbins, for more than 25 years. Along the way, she’s been brought to her knees by life more than once, and she’s found her way back to herself each time. She calls what she learned A Kinder Way to lead, to love, and to be.
MEA’s Chip Conley and Kari Cardinale join Sage for an unscripted conversation about what that looks like. They’ll talk about:
-
Lasting Love: Treating love as something you practice and relationships as mirrors
-
Conscious Leadership: Going first, choosing inner alignment, and taking 100% responsibility
-
When Roles Reverse: Caring for an aging parent and navigating the grief that comes with it
-
The Seasons of Life: Choosing acceptance over resistance to navigate change without losing yourself
-
Finding New Purpose: Beginning again and stepping into a new calling, whatever chapter you’re in

The Soul of MEA: Behind the Lens with Filmmaker Nic Askew
November 5, 2026
8:00 AM PT
11:00 AM ET
Earlier this year at our Santa Fe campus, filmmaker Nic Askew set up a single camera inside the old chapel with no script, no prompts, and zero agenda. What followed surprised everyone: alumni lined up for hours just to sit in the chair, drop their everyday armor, and speak from the heart.
That impromptu shoot became the foundation for the short film The Soul of MEA, premiering at the MEA Film Fest in Santa Fe this December.
In this live conversation, host Derek Gehl sits down with Nic to get the inside story behind making The Soul of MEA. Nic will share how he discovered the chapel, how the setup came together, the driving idea behind the project, and what it felt like watching alumni wait in line just to share their honest truth on camera.
Moving Through Loss: Meeting Grief with Compassion, Curiosity, and Care
November 20, 2026
8:00 AM PT
11:00 AM ET
Whether facing the loss of a loved one, a divorce, a career pivot, or an empty nest, the hardest part is often feeling like you’re supposed to have it together when you can barely see the next step. Most of us cope by outrunning it – packing our schedules and soldiering on out of fear that if we open the door to what hurts, we’ll fall into a dark well and never climb out.
As trauma therapist Meghan Riordan Jarvis explains, our bodies won’t let us outrun heartbreak forever. In midlife, buried losses resurface as insomnia, brain fog, anxiety, or deep exhaustion. The good news? Our nervous system comes equipped with built-in biological guardrails to keep you safe through the storm.
In this candid conversation, host Mary Hofstedt sits down with Meghan to explore what loss actually does to our physiology, and how to navigate the aftermath without losing yourself. We’ll also preview Meghan’s upcoming in-person workshop at our Santa Fe campus, Moving Through Loss: From Grief to Grounded Renewal.
If you’re carrying a loss or transition that feels heavier than you can hold alone, join us live. You’ll walk away with practical relief, self-compassion, and steadier ground beneath your feet.
