What The Heck Are You Waiting For?

Midlife is when time becomes more scarce than money. Money can return. Time can’t.

This is the life stage when we come to realize that procrastination means you’ll likely postpone till your tombstone. Learning Spanish, to surf, or how to make a killer margarita isn’t necessarily going to become easier 10 years from now.

So, midlife isn’t necessarily a crisis. It’s a kick-ass! It’s the time to stand up, walk to the window, and scream, “I’m bored as hell and I’m not gonna take it any more!” You’re not alone. Someone may scream back at you.

You know what we need more than anything in this era? Life-changing conversation about things that really matter. In midlife, there’s rarely time to talk about love, death and human connection. And, yet, the number one variable for living longer is our relational capital: how we develop social relations that serve as emotional insurance for our inevitable rainy days. You have property and liability insurance for your home, so why not have emotional insurance for your life?

I am so excited to be co-leading an MEA Baja week called “Love, Death and Human Connection” with the esteemed Michael Hebb who created the global “Death Over Dinner” movement and has just launched our “Generations Over Dinner” program. 75% of this week’s program will be our core MEA curriculum, but the icing on the cake will be the discussions, exercises, and experiences that accelerate our self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and sense of belonging and connectedness.

Have you fallen in or out of love in the past couple years? Have you lost some loved ones? Do you yearn to live a life that’s as deep and meaningful as it is long? Then, this is the week for you. We have a few spaces left in this October 23-30 workshop at our Baja campus including a couple of spaces that are allocated for people who need financial aid (you can learn more about that if you click on the workshop link above).

Look forward to seeing you on the beach. I know you won’t regret it. If this particular workshop isn’t for you, check out our full workshop calendar which now has some of our 2023 workshops listed.
