This July 14-19, we’re inviting you to explore a new approach to designing a meaningful life. It’s called Crossroads & Classics: Navigating Transitions with Art & Literature, a collaboration between MEA and the intellectual heart of Santa Fe—St. John’s College (lovingly known as the “most contrarian college in America”). Think of it as summer camp for the cool humanities kids who are now in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond.
Here, the conversations won’t flatter your ego. They’ll confront it.
You won’t be “right”—you’ll be awakened.
It’s not about proving your intelligence. It’s about exercising it in the company of curious misfits who ask the questions Google can’t answer.
A week of Socratic dialogue, wild contradictions, and meaningful discomfort in a purposefully-small workshop well-suited for introverts and deep thinkers.
The kind of experience that might haunt you—in the best way—for years.
So, do you fancy yourself an intellectual? Or just someone who’s hungry for learning more?
Either way, Santa Fe is calling.
We’ll be waiting—with a chair, a circle, and a glass of red wine under the stars.

P.S. This is a perfect time to come to town because my favorite festival of the year, the International Folk Art Market, is July 10-13, just before this workshop. You’ll see 142 master folk artists from 57 countries and I heartily recommend going to the enormous, gorgeous Museum of International Folk Art while you’re here.
