When Lizzy Gilbert experienced her first MEA workshop a year ago, she told me, “Chippy, you need to bring my soul brother Rob Bell to lead a workshop.” To be honest, I didn’t know much about Rob at that time. I didn’t know TIME magazine called him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World due to his mega-bestseller “Love Wins,” his story as a pastor challenging traditional Christian views.
And, then, I interviewed him for my podcast (the episode went live yesterday) and realized this dude is funny, crazy, and wise at the same time. He believes that our calling in life is to be creative and unique which is so far away from how many of us think of evangelical Christianity. He often says things like “that was 17 Rob’s ago…that Rob was in such pain” as he sees his life as a form of evolutionary performance art.
