To Save or Savor the World? That is the Question.

"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve (or save) the world and a desire to enjoy (or savor) the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." - E.B. White

Why can’t we do both: save and savor? There are so many false dichotomies in the world: good and evil, real and imaginary, extrovert and introvert, optimistic and pessimistic, yin and yang. If there’s one thing we’ve learned as we’ve aged, it’s to become an alchemist who can magically mix the polarities of life.

How might you curate today with a combination of improving and enjoying, saving and savoring the world with just the right mix of both?

P.S. I’ve been a proud advisory board member of the Stanford Center on Longevity for a few years and they put on amazing events like this one on Healthy Aging 50+ in early February.
