I Believe in “Karmic Capitalism”

November 7, 2025
Do you believe that you can do well by doing good?

If so, you probably believe that profit is the byproduct of purpose, every business action has ethical consequences — “corporate karma,” long-term success depends on generosity, trust, and social contribution, and doing good isn’t just moral; it’s smart strategy. What goes around comes around, in life and in business…but sometimes it takes a helluva long time.

Both in Baja and in Santa Fe, MEA has tried to be a good partner in our community to create a regenerative impact on our locale. In Santa Fe, that means we’ve made donations to thirty non-profit organizations over the past five years, totaling approximately $450,000. Here’s a sampling of those organizations: the Lensic Performing Arts Center, Solace Sexual Assault Services, Galisteo Studio Art Tour, Zozobra celebration, Richard Rohr’s Center for Action and Contemplation, Nex Mexico School for the Arts, Santa Fe International Literary Festival, and Santa Fe International Film Festival.

Our MEA alums and 56 regional chapters have also gotten into the act and this 3-minute video captures some of the Seasons of Service projects that our MEA community has been doing this fall around North America. Thanks to everyone making a difference out there.
