Thanks to the dozens of you who sent me this heartwarming video of Dick and Coldplay’s Chris Martin exploring the concept of love and showing that Mr. Van Dyke, at 99, still has the moves. He was self-taught when it came to dancing, although it feels like Joy (the emotion) was and is the real teacher. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, enjoy it.

P.S. As you consider your travel plans for 2025, will you be a tourist, a traveler, or a pilgrim? What’s the difference? A tourist gets trapped by what’s hot on TripAdvisor and how it’ll look on Instagram. A traveler seeks out the hidden treasures with the aspiration of living like a local. A pilgrim travels to be transformed in a devotional, spiritual way. If you want to feel like a pilgrim next month, join me at our Santa Fe ranch campus for our Spirituality + Health workshop (Jan 14-19) dedicated to connecting you more deeply with yourself and the spiritual mystery of life.
P.P.S. I love the Stanford Center on Longevity’s new GrandPeople initiative, highlighting older people doing interesting things. Check out their new Instagram profile, especially this post: Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage (OLAUG). Since 2017, this group of women — all between the ages of 64 and 85 — have been taking to the water to help make their local ecosystem thrive. The “Old Ladies” sweep along the shallows of ponds from Cape Cod to Falmouth to Chatham, diving down to pick up beer cans, golf balls, fishing lures, waterlogged dog toys, hats, jackets, shoes, and occasionally a tire, cell phone box of spent fireworks, or an entire toilet. What does your ideal retirement sound like? Do you imagine picking up a new hobby, traveling the world, spending more time with family? Or do you imagine scuba diving to clean up trash?
