I’ve been helping to steer their rocket ship full-time for four years and from afar for nearly four years. Just like there’s hysteria, hype, and hoopla leading up to a Presidential election, there’s the same for an IPO. But, what’s truly relevant is the governing and executing post-election or IPO in order to build a leadership legacy that lasts.

In this short video shot yesterday, I enjoyed walking around our nearby “pueblo magico,” Todos Santos, after Spanish class on my way to buy one of the most coveted local products, delectable chocolate brownies at Taller 17. Taller will never float an IPO, but they will warm a lot of bellies and souls. And, I’m willing to walk across town to create a “custom” of being their customer.

At the end of the day, while many entrepreneurs aspire to go public, the best empresarios focus on creating a product or service that’s a true original. Do that well and the public will beat a path to your door.
