Maria Ortero

Maria Otero was the first holder of the office of the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights (2012 - 2013). In 2006, she was appointed to the UN Advisors Group on Inclusive Financial Sectors. She served on the board of the U.S. Institute of Peace and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
