About Bees and Wasps.

May 29, 2023

I was staying at my friends home for a few days enjoying the beautiful landscape and in preparation for a storm I decided to unmount an umbrella that was next to a Buddha statue; the sunset was amazing and the remaining light of it created a perfect evening that was inviting me to have a glass of wine while enjoying the festival of colors provided by the mist of the clouds combined with the sunlight.

While folding the umbrella, I didn’t notice a regular-sized wasp honeycomb that was under it, right behind my head; suddenly I felt a strong bite on my left hand which I thought was a scorpion; right after that another strong bite on my elbow…I started shaking the umbrella trying to avoid the many wasps around me without noticing the honeycomb under it; more multiple painful bites happened on my belly and my legs… I ended up throwing away the umbrella and jumped into the pool.

I am allergic to bee, wasp, scorpion and other insect bites and each time it gets worse; I got a total of 15 bites distributed between my arms, belly and legs and ended up at the ER. Fortunately the cortisone and other strong drugs were enough to stop the choking, pain, swelling and rash.

As a Shaman, I am convinced that events like this have a spiritual meaning; these sacred creatures, same as every living being, have a mission in this dimension and their presence (sometimes not very welcoming) has important messages. Wasps are very organized, they appreciate their life and the life of all the ones with whom they share their nest; they are very protective of the place where they live and also of their queen. They build their nests at places that they consider spiritually safe, free of bad energies.

The spiritual meaning of a wasp bite is an alert from the divine, a wake up call to follow the path of the person and do or be what is meant to do or be. It is also a call to be aware of supposed friends around that are trying to damage the reputation of the victim that received the bite. Coincidentally I got a Yoruba reading (my shamanic training comes from Yoruba in west Africa) and the signs warned me about the same, to be careful with people who are not well intended.

Whenever multiple bites happen, the meaning is that a close relative needs help; this made me think specifically of one of my daughters who was grateful when I called her because she was not having a good moment in her relationship and she needed help.

Even though the experience was unpleasant and painful, I feel grateful for the messages that my guardian angels incarnated as wasps gave me and made me call my daughter asap. It was a wake up call to follow my spiritual path. It also gives me a good feeling about my friend’s home because it means that it is spiritually safe.

Another clear message (I’d say lesson) is to pay attention to my surroundings when moving things, especially when there is not much light. In any case, my recommendation is to listen to your intuition and always try to find the meaning, the message of certain events that definitely leave an imprint on our life.

Love and Blessings from the Shaman,
