I think the fastest, least expensive way to reset our emotions or nerves is to seek out time in nature regularly. It’s hard to be furious or hysterical in a forest or uptight and stressed in a hot spring. As you’ve seen from my past couple posts, I spent some time recently at my cathedral, the place where I become renewed and always feel the divine. Here’s a video of this small slice of heaven—a natural wonder that always reveals my best nature.
I’m betting most of us tune up our cars every year or two. The same way we regularly tune up our bodies through meditation, massage, or some other somatic treatment. But how often do we recalibrate our emotions and nervous system?
